Sara grew up in Concordia, Kansas. She graduated from Concordia High School in 2006 and obtained her LPN through Brown Mackie College in 2008. In 2011, she received her Associates Degree in Nursing from Cloud County Community College and in 2013, her Bachelors in Science degree from Chamberlain University in Chicago, IL. She received her Masters of Science in Nursing- Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from Chamberlain University in Chicago, IL. in 2025. Prior to her Nurse Practitioner training, she has worked as a nurse in various roles at Cloud County Health Center/North Central Kansas Medical Center since 2009. She is married to John Hake and has 5 children. Her board certification is through ANCC- Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (Across the Lifespan) (PMHNP-BC).
