General Surgery

Dr. Leah Speaks is a board-certified general surgeon providing a full range of surgical services, including both elective and emergent care. Her practice includes diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy and colonoscopy, as well as advanced robotic and laparoscopic procedures. Dr. Speaks performs minimally invasive surgeries such as appendectomy, anti-reflux surgery, colorectal surgery, gallbladder and biliary surgery, hernia repair, and splenectomy. She offers comprehensive breast surgical care, including breast conservation procedures, mastectomy, and sentinel lymph node biopsy. Her additional areas of expertise include Infuse-a-Port insertion and removal, anorectal and hemorrhoid surgery, thyroid and parathyroid surgery, trauma surgery, and minor in-office procedures such as biopsies and skin lesion removal. Dr. Speaks earned her medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Wichita and completed her general surgery residency at the University of Kansas School of Medicine–Wichita. She is board certified in general surgery and is committed to providing high quality, patient-centered surgical care.
