CONCORDIA, KS: The Family Care Center is proud to announce the successful completion of its annual community outreach initiative, during which our dedicated team of healthcare providers offered 430 free sports physicals to local students. This equates to $15,000 in complimentary care for area athletes. These physicals are a crucial requirement for athletic participation in junior high, high school, and college.
This initiative, aimed at supporting the health and well-being of our youth, was open to all students in the area. By providing these physicals free of charge, the Family Care Center is helping ensure that every student, regardless of financial circumstances, has the opportunity to participate in school sports, which are vital for physical fitness, teamwork, and personal development.
"At Family Care Center, we are committed to serving our community in every way possible," said Dave Garnas. "We understand the importance of school sports in promoting a healthy lifestyle, building character, and fostering a sense of community among students. By offering these free physicals, we aim to remove barriers to participation and encourage all students to take part in the activities they love."
The sports physicals provided by the Family Care Center included comprehensive evaluations to ensure that students are physically prepared for the demands of their chosen sports. Each student underwent a thorough examination, including a review of their medical history, assessment of vital signs, and a physical examination focusing on cardiovascular, musculoskeletal, and neurological health.
The response from the community has been overwhelmingly positive, with parents, coaches, and school administrators expressing their gratitude for the service provided. Many families expressed relief at having access to these essential physicals without the burden of additional costs.
The Family Care Center plans to continue this annual tradition, reinforcing its commitment to the health and well-being of the community's youth.
