North Central Kansas Medical Center (NCKMC), in collaboration with Midwest Transplant Network, will host a flag-raising ceremony on Wednesday, April 2, in recognition of Donate Life Month. The ceremony will take place at 9:30 a.m. at the front entrance of the hospital, and the public is invited to attend.

The event serves as a tribute to organ, eye, and tissue donors, as well as transplant recipients and their families. In addition to honoring these individuals, NCKMC aims to raise awareness about the importance of organ donation and encourage community members to register as donors.

“Thirteen people die each day while waiting for an organ transplant, while another person is added to the waiting list every eight minutes,” said Pam Campbell, event organizer. “Together with Midwest Transplant Network, we help enable lifesaving and life-enhancing organ, eye, and tissue donation.”
