Cardiac Rehabilitation
Who Are We?
The Cardiac Rehabilitation Program at NCKMed provides a medically supervised and monitored exercise program for those men and women who have experienced cardiac illness and need to recover their strength and sense of well-being. We offer a 12-week comprehensive program.
Who Can Benefit?
Men and women, who have had a heart attack, bypass surgery, stent placement, valve replacement, heart transplant or angioplasty. Rehab is also for Congestive Heart Failure and Peripheral Vascular Disease patients. The Cardiac Rehabilitation program is dedicated to teaching these patients. Patients learn to exercise while being monitored with a cardiac monitor unit so that any abnormality in heart rhythm can be detected during exercise.
What Makes North Central Kansas Medical Center's Cardiac Rehabilitation Program Special?
We provide a safe learning environment for those with heart disease. Frequent educational talks on heart-related and general health topics are presented by rehabilitation staff members. A pharmacy consult and dietary consult is also provided. Family members are strongly urged to join in these sessions because the care and support they provide will hasten the patient’s recovery. We offer convenient scheduling, two or three sessions per week, professional atmosphere, patient privacy and the highest quality of care for our patients.
